Nickelback goodness

Note: because I am lazy and have no time to make an entire update, I am quoting two e-mails I have send the last days with my Nickelback experience, so the English and Dutch versions are slightly different...



[English]

I was standing front row, right in front of the stage. During the opening acts that was perfect (Live was awesome btw), but the minute Nickelback came up (opened with Animals ;) ) the fights around me started from all the peeps who were drunk and/or stoned, and that seriously was scary. I got smashed against the gate thingies at the front, people started to crowd surf, fight, etc. so I made my way back through the crowd asap. I stood about row 8, still great, but it sucks that a couple of idiotics must ruin the concert for some of us and/or literally making us move from the great spots we gained by showing up early. Now the music itself was of course awesome. And more. A lot of oldies, by far not every song from the new album, a big screen, great show with fireworks, flames and other spectacular stuff and a crowd of about 20,000 peeps.

[Nederlands]

Het concert was geweldig na het eerste nummer... De voorprogramma's (o.a. Live!) gingen prima maar zodra Nickelback op het podium kwam, braken er gevechten uit en was het niet meer uit te houden (eerste rij, recht voor het podium, was de beste plek voor maar liefst 2 seconden) dus ben ik een aantal rijen naar achteren gegaan. Was echt jammer, maar het was denk ik een "echt rockconcert" en dus zoals ik het nog nooit heb meegemaakt. Geen tienerpubliek zoals bij Di-rect & Simple Plan, maar 20+-ers/30+-ers die of stoned waren of gewoon "lol" hadden in illegaal crowdsurfen, vechten, etc. Was op zich wel jammer. Maar Nickelback is hier veel populairder dan ik ooit had gedacht (het gehele stadium vol, dat zijn 20.000 menzen ofzo) wat betekent dat de show ook vanaf rij 5 a 10 heel goed te volgen was (grote schermen etc) en wellicht ook wat prettiger want er was vuurwerk, vlammen, en meer spektakel dat het zelfs in mijn rij erg heet werd.
